At the Milan Design Week, Novacolor presents a space dedicated to meditation and relaxation, where one can connect with nature expressed by the walls, crafted using the new product Materia Viva. In a world that races ahead, we need a space to pause and reflect on the meaning of life. Novacolor is delighted to invite design and color enthusiasts to the reopening of its showroom at Corso Garibaldi 91 in Milan (Brera District), a special event within the context of the Fuori Salone: Timeless Room by Arch. Barbara Sansonetti.
During the Fuori Salone, we will welcome the textured lime-based plaster that will reintroduce us to natural materials typical of the Italian and Mediterranean architectural heritage, with an innovative and sustainable approach. Our new line of mineral finishes, "Materia Viva," is indeed created with the intent to revive recycled raw materials, aligning with circular economy processes.
The showroom will transform into four atmospheres: sea, countryside, forest, volcano. The colors, tactile sensations, and sounds that only nature can create fit perfectly into a new, vibrant material that transforms into an extraordinary form. Materia Viva is a product that is both new and ancient, refined, and incredibly powerful. An ancient beauty to be preserved and enhanced. Shell, pumice, cork, and cocciopesto are natural structures that contain all the elements: water, air, earth, and fire. Fragments of raw materials from the natural landscape that give lime a new expression.
Materia Viva has been designed to be a product that recreates, inside homes as well as hotels and offices, a corner dedicated to meditation, reading, and self-contact, to stop time and recharge energies surrounded by nature. In this sense, eco-design becomes part of a balance that leaves nothing and no one out, for the well-being of people and the environment.
"Be Your Home" Wallpaper Collection is the new line of wallpapers that will be launched during the Design Week. The collection, created by architect and interior designer Gianpaolo Venier from OTTO Studio, stems from the contemporary need to return to origins in search of all those informal and comfortable sensations that make us feel at Home. Starting from the analysis of a common desire for intimacy and recklessness, the designer wanted to delve into the concept of the line by experimenting with striped fabrics in the cottons of our family stories and comfort places: shirts, pajamas, pillows, etc. The use of stripes was initially utilized in clothing and only recently has it been legitimized in interior design. The collection develops in six patterns made in colors inspired by the six worlds of the Novacolor Color Trends 2024, which pay tribute to the multisensory nature of the most common spices and herbs in the kitchen. Each pattern is named after what are the symbols of the sense of family par excellence, our four-legged friends: Penny, Dea, Taco, Sophi, Romeo, and Merlino.
Novacolor invites you to the "Italian Night" event on Thursday, April 18; during the event, participants will have an exclusive opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the Novacolor universe, among colors, textures, scents, and sounds, a unique atmosphere that only Italian design can offer. The evening represents an opportunity to share ideas and draw inspiration, celebrating together all the novelties that await us.
