A dialogue between tradition and modernity, where gold and clay define a new sustainable aesthetic in the heart of the Eternal City.
In the heart of Rome, within the evocative Palazzo Orsini Taverna, a new chapter of contemporary design unfolds. Following the Milanese success, Platform Architecture and Design has recently inaugurated a new Casa Platform project location in the Capital. This initiative aims to create a space for dialogue and exchange dedicated to architects, designers, and cultural professionals, where historical tradition intertwines with an innovative vision to foster connections and inspiration.
In this vibrant creative environment, it was essential to convey avant-garde and traditional concepts through the choice of interior decor design. Novacolor’s Archi+ Argilla mineral plaster represents the natural evolution of this ambition, bringing mineral wall finishes that imbue spaces with material strength, fostering a constant dialogue between the purity of clay and the timeless beauty of the setting.
Through this intervention, which highlights a natural material, the professionals from SET Architects studio have successfully enhanced the historical essence of the Palazzo with surfaces where the past meets the present, telling a new story of elegance and innovation. Bringing this decorative scene to life is Novacolor Club Le Superfici Contemporanee, part of a strategic network of sales points united by the goal of promoting Novacolor’s decorative design across Italy.
At the core of Casa Platform Rome’s new aesthetic is the dialogue between two materials defining current decorative trends: gold and clay. This combination merges the visual richness of gold with the natural warmth and texture of clay, creating an environment that evokes understated luxury. In the main hall, the Archi+ Argilla walls establish a natural ambiance that enhances the authenticity of the space, while gold adds a precious accent capable of emphasizing the historicity of the location.
The gold-and-clay combination is not merely aesthetic but responds to the growing interest in authentic and sustainable materials. Archi+ Argilla is an innovative mineral finish made from natural clay, aerial lime, and carefully selected aggregates, meeting both aesthetic and wellness demands as certified by Indoor Air Comfort Gold, ensuring superior indoor air quality. Complementing this fascinating “decorative attire” led by Archi+ Argilla is a curated selection of Novacolor products, enriching every surface of the project with unique and prestigious details. For the ceilings, Era a Pennello/Lime Paint was used, providing a matte and cloud-like effect; gold accents and frames were highlighted with the elegance of Metallo_Fuso, adding a touch of preciousness. The mezzanine floor was treated with Wall2floor Top Coat Waterproof, ensuring resistance and aesthetic continuity, while the bathroom walls were adorned with Archi+ Tadelakt, offering a refined texture and a material effect that bridges tradition and modernity.
The renovation project curated by SET Architects has created the ideal context for Casa Platform, establishing it as a space open to dialogue and the sharing of ideas, showcasing the evolution of design culture. The decorative narrative highlighted by the interplay of gold and clay, guided by Archi+ Argilla, has contributed to making this space a model of sustainable design, ready to inspire the world of Italian architecture and interior design.
