Material Horizon, The One Penthouse

In Ho Chi Minh City, the city is not merely observed: it is crossed with the gaze. From the major infrastructures that redraw the urban skyline to the residential towers overlooking the Saigon River, the panorama is composed of lines, reflections and depths that change with the light of day.



Set within Empire City, The One Penthouse, designed by architect Nguyen Van Quang, was born from the idea of transforming this scenario into an integral part of living. More than an apartment, the project takes shape as a domestic observatory where architecture, matter and light build a continuous relationship with the city.



Here, Novacolor research becomes a generative element of the space. The surfaces do not perform a decorative function, but define atmosphere, depth and perception. Each room is built through an essential material language that finds its main counterpart in light.



The ceilings and walls in Marmorino KS accompany this narrative with a soft and vibrant presence. The tradition of lime putty and marble powders is reinterpreted in a contemporary key through surfaces that seem to hold the light and gradually return it, generating nuances that change throughout the day. Matter thus acquires an almost atmospheric quality, helping to create a sense of continuity between the different rooms.



In dialogue with it, Dune Gold introduces a more sculptural dimension. The living room wall and the soft curved surfaces of the bedroom come alive through a delicate material interplay, where light settles, glides and lingers, shaping a sequence of depths and nuances in continuous transformation.



Completing the architectural envelope, CalceCruda emerges on the white ceilings: a finish that expresses a more authentic and tactile dimension of Novacolor research. Its material surfaces with a sensorial effect introduce a note of balance within a project defined by strong formal precision, giving the rooms a feeling of naturalness and character.



Aesthetic quality is accompanied by a broader vision that has guided Novacolor’s path for years. Through low-emission formulations, certifications dedicated to indoor air quality and the growing use of raw materials from renewable sources, the company develops surfaces designed to contribute to the wellbeing of spaces and people. An approach that considers sustainability not as an additional element, but as an integral part of design culture.



Created in collaboration with partner Kien Thach Trading Construction Corporation, The One Penthouse thus tells of a new idea of contemporary luxury: not ostentation, but balance. A place where the city always remains present beyond the glass walls, while inside, matter, light and architecture create a silent landscape capable of slowing the rhythm of the gaze.
