On the occasion of the Genova Design Week 2025, Novacolor is taking part in the experimental exhibition "CONTAINER 02", curated by Simona Finessi, director of the international magazine Platform architecture and design, and promoted by DiDe – Distretto del Design Genova.
A project that transforms thirteen maritime containers into living scenarios: intimate, radical, and sensorial spaces. Temporary micro-architectures that tell the story of design through a feminine, inclusive, and material lens.
For Novacolor, matter is not a surface to be covered, but a sensitive and generative language, capable of shaping identity, emotion, and thought. CONTAINER 02 is a space for living exploration, where aesthetics, technique, and sustainability intertwine in a new narrative: that of over twenty designers who reinterpret design with an authentic, empathetic, and plural gaze.
The theme of this edition – Material – resonates deeply with Novacolor's philosophy. Matter is not only technical performance, but also a tool for cultural, social, and environmental storytelling. And it is also through decorated surfaces that values, atmospheres, and relationships are defined. In daily collaboration with architecture and interior design studios, Novacolor supports this process as a design partner, giving voice to expressive and responsible material.
Within the installation CONTAINER 02, the San Marco Group brand is present with two distinct contributions, entrusted to two Italian designers. Two complementary visions that express, through color and texture, a conscious, sensitive, and deeply identity-related design approach.
CONTAINER 09 – Studio Dallera Bonforte
Finishes used:
Zeus Platino
MATmotion, color Ariel Sky Original MM065
In this project, light becomes an active element: reflected by the metallic finish Zeus Platino, applied to the puddle reminiscent of a swimming pool, it brings to life dynamic, iridescent surfaces in constant dialogue with the space.
On the ceiling and the upper part of the walls, MATmotion Ariel Sky introduces a soft blue that rebalances the space with lightness.
An environment designed to evoke the aesthetics and sensoriality of summer, where materials, colors, and perception build an immersive and refined experience.
CONTAINER 11 – Silvia Porro
Finish used:
Archi+ Argilla, color 204
Silvia Porro presents a primitive, tactile, introspective narrative of matter.
With Archi+ Argilla, a coating made from natural earths, the surface becomes imperfect, alive, capable of conveying the value of craftsmanship and memory. The color 204 – warm, deep, and organic – enhances the intimate dimension of the space, evoking an essential and regenerative design, in harmony with the human and environmental landscape.
Being part of Genova Design Week 2025 means supporting a design culture that values diversity, experimentation, and awareness.
The curatorial choice to entrust the interpretation of CONTAINER 02 entirely to female designers is not a symbolic gesture, but a precise cultural act: to highlight often underrepresented visions, capable of reimagining design as a relational, narrative, and transformative tool. In a context such as the Genoese Darsena, a place of transits and memories, matter once again becomes the interface between space and thought, between vision and concreteness.
A collective gesture that gives voice to contemporary, inclusive, and regenerative design.
In this way, Novacolor reaffirms its commitment to a culture of design that unites surface and meaning, aesthetics and durability, innovation and rootedness.
Because in the finish, the project does not end: it begins.
