In 2002 at SAIE in Bologna, Novacolor presented Marmorino KS for the first time, as a natural lime-based putty for satin-effect skim coats and finishes. It became an immediate success as the colours and effects proposed impressed both customers and professionals so much that they drove the push of Novacolor's all-Italian products to the export market. The new product was presented first in Europe and then worldwide. Marmorino KS expanded from Akzo Nobel in Switzerland to Asian Paint in the East, the world's ninth largest producer and seller of paints and decorative effects. Sold in over 100 countries, it is now also the number-one selling product in China.
Marmorino KS has been the keystone of the stylistic growth of Novacolor, which has succeeded in interpreting a classic product with a modern and refined look to create a finish that is soft to the touch and predominantly matt at a time, at a time when glossy finishes were favoured. It won over the favour of architects and designers who were always searching for something new.
This year it will celebrate its twentieth anniversary with a new collaboration and a journey of discovery into the colours, its unique matt texture, and its versatility for outdoor use.
Studio Salaris, one of the most important creative centres of Milan’s design scene, has dedicated Marmorino KS a docu-film on how the famous moodboards – a source of inspiration for designers and architects – are created, recounting the noble history and purity of a material that somehow succeeds in being always up-to-date as well as elegant and discreet.
A product folder will also be presented, with the colour palette enriched by the most significant colours of these twenty years of history.
