Novacolor's international project is back for its seventh edition, featuring master decorators, designers and architects who best interpret the values of the Italian brand. The ten Novacolor Ambassadors 2022, selected among professional decorators and architects from all over the world, are: Carsten Reiss from Germany (decorator), from Italy Francesco Piazza (decorator), Loris Cintio (decorator) and Paolo Volpato (architect), Chinonso Joseph Okuani from Nigeria, Jacobo Rubio from Spain (decorator), Manciu Florin Ciprian from Romania (decorator) and Octav Roman (architect), Mariusz Lisowski from Poland (decorator), and Elliott Hall from the United States (decorator).
The exclusive shoot was held in Milan’s Casa degli Artisti, the centre for residency, production and sharing, aimed at connecting art and the city, with which Novacolor has formed a partnership for the whole of 2022. Here, photographer Gianluca Cisternino returned to tell the story of all 10 Ambassadors, gathered in Italy to get to know each other and exchange expertise. The Ligurian artist and photographer, founder of Afip International (association of professional photographers), once again succeeded in capturing and depicting the human and professional essence of each leading figure, under the common umbrella of Novacolor's identity values.
The Novacolor Ambassadors created a decorative panel inspired by the concept of belonging to Nature as expressed in the new 2022 We Belong To Nature concept, using the products that best represent their personal interpretation of the brand. Each of them has given a subjective view of the meaning of the new concept based on their own culture, experience and sensitivity.
Carsten Reiss reproduced the textures found in nature with the products: CalceCruda, Metallo_Fuso, Verderame_Wall Painting and Marmorino Ks.
Francesco Piazza was inspired by the colours of the earth, enhancing Archi+ Argilla, Metallo_Fuso, CalceCruda and Mirror.
The land of Siena, with its warm and enveloping nuances, defined Loris Cintio's work made with IRONIc and Archi+ Tadelakt
For Chinonso Joseph Okuani, the concept of nature is closely linked to his roots: his native Nigeria, with its immense variety of terrain and population, is portrayed in the colours and properties of CalceCruda, Archi+ Pietra Intonaco, and Metallo_Fuso.
Metallo_Fuso, Florenzia and Archi+ Big were also used to reproduce the Andalusia of Jacobo Rubio.
For Manciu Florin Ciprian, nature is an inner value, expressed artistically by Metallo_Fuso, CalceCruda tinta a stucco and Florenzia.
Swahili and Eclat_Wall Painting describe the beauty and elegance of panel by architect Octav Roman.
The brand-new Archi+ Argilla, on the other hand, is the product chosen to represent architect Paolo Volpato, who has always promoted the utmost input to sustainability and the environmentally friendly approach, in conjunction with an avant-garde style.
The confrontation between man and nature is what Mariusz Lisowski represented with Metallo_Fuso, Marmorino Ks e Archi+ Argilla.
Last but not least, Elliott Hall chose CalceCruda and Puro_titanium & VOC free (two of Novacolor's most environmentally-friendly products as they are based on bio masses and formaldehyde-reducing solutions) to best fulfil his need to protect our surrounding nature also by using products having both a powerful visual appeal and a high technology content.
The Novacolor Ambassadors are a diverse group, bringing together different cultures, backgrounds and professional skills all related to the world of colour. The common thread is the storytelling of Novacolor's values by using materials that create comfort and wellbeing in the home, while respecting and protecting the environment around us.
Every day, Novacolor invests significantly in sustainable raw materials, representing Italian excellence working with passion and skill for a sustainable future. For years now Novacolor has been redesigning its production chain with a new approach based on the concept of "Biomass Balance", replacing fossil raw materials with biomass from agricultural waste. As well as obtaining A+ indoor air quality, its products were the first in Italy to receive REDcert2 certification, an important certificate awarded to companies that invest significantly in sustainable raw materials. Also recent is the acquisition by the MATmotion line and Puro_titanium & VOC free of Eurofins Indoor Air Comfort Gold certification, which combines all European regulations on VOC emissions and almost all optional VOC emission labels, including not only testing and screening for thousands of chemical products but also a programme to ensure that not just one specific sample is tested: all production batches are monitored over time and production processes are inspected periodically. This ensures that the certification is maintained over time, which has also been achieved for Puro_titanium & VOC free. A safe and reliable proposal that meets the requirements of LEED, BREEAM, International, BREEAM NOR, DGNB, Well Building and Italian CAM Edilizia.
