Marmorino KS, our satin and matt-effect lime putty turns 20! An iconic product loved at home in Italy and also internationally by architects and colour professionals everywhere.
Walls with a unique matt, velvety and uniform appearance, with soft and vibrant colours or with a cloudy appearance, imitating the classic and timeless Marmorino Veneziano effect. This is the result of Marmorino KS: a product that combines the beauty of the splendours of the past with the versatility of an increasingly high-performance material that meets the requirements of modern architecture and environmental sustainability.
To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of this iconic product, we have created a unique colour palette containing a selection of the most significant shades from these first twenty years of Marmorino KS history.
In 2002 Novacolor presented Marmorino KS for the first time at SAIE in Bologna: a natural-lime putty for smoothing and finishing with a satin effect. It was an immediate success, and the colours and effects proposed immediately impressed both customers and professionals so much that they drove the push of Novacolor's all-Italian products to the export market. The new product was presented first in Europe and then worldwide.
Marmorino KS was the keystone of Novacolor's stylistic growth. Novacolor succeeded in interpreting a classic product with a modern and refined look, creating a finish that was soft to the touch and predominantly matt at a time when glossy finishes were favoured, winning the favour of architects and designers who were always searching for something new.
Studio Salaris, one of the most important creative centres of the Milan design scene, has dedicated a docu-film to Marmorino KS on how the famous mood-boards, a source of inspiration for designers and architects, are created. Recounting the noble history and purity of a material that mysteriously succeeds in being always up-to-date as well as elegant and discreet.
With its delicate, matt appearance and velvety feel, Marmorino KS can be used in a variety of contexts: from super-modern architecture, where colour is the decisive factor, to more traditional architecture with tailor-made textures. It is also easy to apply and does not create any joints, making it great for use on large surfaces, where it combines traditional charm with a timeless style, making it the preferred product of many craftspeople and contractors. So there are numerous advantages that have made Marmorino KS a timeless product: "despite" its twenty years, it continues to charm architects and interior designers all over the world.
Since 2002, Novacolor and its Marmorino KS have completed prestigious international projects such as the Estonian National Musey and the Palacio Condes de Murcia in Portugal, working with major architectural firms such as Manuel and Francisco Aires Mateus and Federico Valsassina, W.DESIGN company in Shanghai or Mong Hsi Interior in Taiwan.
